User Experience Strategist (Web Emphasis)

We are looking for an exceptional User Experience Strategist to join our high-energy team and define internet and website strategies for our client base of international and domestic businesses. You should consider this position if you have 5–7 years of experience leading the research, strategy, requirements, content management and information architecture of large e-commerce and/or dynamic, transactional data-driven websites. Experience with traditional consumer research and marketing/communication planning is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Researching competitive websites, existing web initiatives and past web projects
  • Planning and managing target audience research, synthesizing research findings into summary reports and user personas
  • Developing organizational/structural concepts for website projects
  • Preparing IA documentation (research findings, site architectures, business and functional requirements, wire frames, use cases and task flows, etc.) for client presentation and for use by the development team
  • Collaboration with the design and development team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, with multidisciplinary backgrounds such as design, design planning, psychology, computer science, information sciences, human/computer interface design or commerce/business
  • At least 5 years of related industry experience in new media, information technology, communications or library/information science
  • At least 3 years experience in the role of User Experience Lead, information architect or information design lead
  • Experience applying research and analysis to site development
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in a variety of written and diagrammatic forms
  • Proven understanding of, and experience with: user-centered design techniques and persona development; development of organizational/structural concepts for website; project processes for the development of large scale website projects; documentation requirements for web development teams; application of content management, personalization, targeting and searching systems
  • Proven experience with: software development process/business analysis, user research, usability practices and testing
  • High proficiency in the use of MS Office, Visio and Internet browsers
  • High knowledge of HTML, ASP, .NET, CSS
  • Medium to high-level of technical knowledge (SQL, databases, server platforms)
  • Cross-platform (Windows, Macintosh)

Compensation:

Avenue offers an excellent salary commensurate to experience, health insurance and a 401k plan. For the right candidate, this position may include a bonus structure based on achieving client results.
